Resume

Benjamin Baier studied chemical and bioengineering at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. During this time, he worked as a student trainee at Westlake Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG (PVC manufacturer) and Envi Con Engineering GmbH (general planner for energy suppliers, plant constructors, etc.). He graduated in November 2022 with his master’s thesis at the Chair of Chemical Reaction Engineering on “Optimization and application of plate catalyst systems for low-by-product dehydrogenation of LOHC and dynamic H2 release”. In the research group “Catalytic Systems for Chemical Energy Storage” he has been working as a research assistant since February 2023. Central part of his PhD are investigations on the dehydrogenation of LOHC in maritime environments within the Horizon Europe project “SHIP AH2OY”.
